Used Nissan Patrol SUV Review Notes

.
We move to discuss the Nissan Patrol as a used car buy - we’re particularly talking to used car buyers in the Eastern Cape - looking for a luxury vehicle that can still take on the rough terrains of the wild out there. Check out this short review on what to expect when owning a used Nissan Patrol.
.
The Nissan Patrol is available with a huge 5.6-litre V8 and has a seven-speed automatic gearbox with the usual transfer-case set-up that gives the vehicle low-ratio gears for chugging through the bush.
.
In terms of its suburban performance, of course, the Patrol remains a big, heavy vehicle so it’s hardly the easiest to park or manoeuvre in and out of tight spots. You have to know what you’re doing… You do get a smooth, compliant ride thanks to all that wheel travel and the big tyres.
.
As with any seriously capable off-roader, the very first thing to ascertain is exactly how the vehicle has been used.
.
A model with rock-sliders, huge mud-tyres, a snorkel and a winch bolted to a bull-bar has probably seen its share of off-road activity. But even if it doesn’t have those accessories fitted, you still need to crawl underneath with a torch and see just how badly damaged it is.
While most of the underbody components are pretty well protected by the factory bash-plates, the engine sump seems to be a little vulnerable, so make sure it hasn’t copped a big rock at some stage.
.
Big, heavy four-wheel-drives are not low-maintenance vehicles, either, so check the service record for signs that it has been maintained properly. Even when they’re not being used in the bush, they’re hard on things like brake pads, brake rotors and tyres, and the extra driveline components all need their share of love and attention at the appropriate intervals.
.
While a lot of modern off-road four-wheel drives have moved to the independent front suspension, the Patrol took that a step further with an independent rear axle.
.
If you’re keen to check out one of these luxury off-road SUVs or perhaps you’re looking at different used cars for sale in the Eastern Cape - browsing the cars for sale at your local used car dealership is a great start!
